The Ninevites is a Johannesburg design studio founded in 2012 by designer Nkuli Mlangeni-Berg. What began as a textile studio making handcrafted rugs has grown into a collection of homeware that connects traditional craft with contemporary design.
Homeware with meaning
Every piece in our collection is designed to be lived with for years. We work with artisans, makers and South African artists to create rugs, throws, blankets, cushion covers and wall hangings that celebrate identity and cultural heritage while fitting naturally into modern interiors.
Choosing handcrafted homeware means choosing fewer, better things: natural fibres, original designs and pieces that support creative economies across South Africa and the Global South.
